Wider 165 Project “CECILIA” launched at midday, May 14, in Ancona. The private event was attended by shipyard staff, suppliers and collaborators. This second launch – after the WIDER 150 – marks another important milestone for the forward-thinking shipyard.
The sleek build has a 50m LOA and just under 500GT. Styling was the collaborative effort of both the in-house WIDER design team and Italian yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni. They have created an elegant, all aluminum superyacht. Her sleek, elongated profile is sure to turn heads in every port.
Wider 165 Innovative Architecture
Designed to accommodate the owner’s long wish list of toys, both inside and out, the WIDER 165 is luxury afloat that’s poised for adventure. On the foredeck, the helicopter-landing pad is a unique feature of the WIDER 165. Here, circular seating areas set into the superstructure, forward of a large Jacuzzi tub, offer a versatile space. It doubles as a generous dance floor for parties under the stars. Aft, the generous Beach Club guarantees fun in sea and sun.
There are many notable features. The generous study has a terrace on the port side. The private gym has a terrace on the starboard side. There is also a sauna room, and a spacious and light owner’s stateroom with ensuite bathroom.
Wider 165 Elegant Interiors
The interior layout was designed by IdeaeItalia in conjunction with the owner’s architect. This collaboration answered the demand for an enhanced connection of the owner and guests to the water. Large windows, side-opening balconies and spacious exterior dining and entertaining areas fuse indoor-outdoor space.
Bright interior spaces feature a linear design bathed in warm colors. Materials used onboard are primarily deep sanded oak, roman travertine stone, premium quality leathers and Italian white marbles. These have been elegantly combined to give a contemporary styled interior an Italian flair. More ornate details reflect the Asian culture and taste of the owner.
Wider 165 Eco-Power
Wider 165 is equipped for transoceanic cruising and energy efficiency. A range of 3,100nm is expected at a cruising speed of 12.5 knots. This increases to 5,400nm at the ecological speed of 10 knots. The diesel electric propulsion system combined with a 544kWh Lithium polymer battery bank and Azimuthal pods guarantees hugely reduced fuel consumption.
The Power Generator Room, located in the bow, replaces the traditional engine room. This leaves the mid ship of the vessel free. Larger, more comfortable guest accommodations have been positioned in the most stable part of the yacht. This arrangement is only possible because of the use of Azimuthal pods. These receive power through an electric cable unlike traditional propulsion systems that have shafts.
The propulsion system is completely modular. In Zero Emission Mode, the yacht can run solely on batteries. This allows for silent cruising at lower speeds (5 knots), or for short movements. It alleviates the need to start generators to move anchorages or for early starts.
When fully charged, the battery power is sufficient to run all hotel services including air conditioning. Imagine sunning on the beach platform, soaking in the Jacuzzi or sleeping in complete silence with no engines running.
Wider 165 Happy Crew
The yacht has a crew of 11. Accommodations are in five cabins on the lower deck. A sizable cabin for the captain is positioned next to the wheelhouse. The ample crew mess complies with the latest standards (LY3) for crew. A central corridor gives direct access to the engine room, located at the furthest point from the guest accommodation.
The WIDER 165, project ‘CECILIA, is available for sale at 30m euro and will be ready for delivery this summer.
