Exumas

Why are the Exumas the most popular archipelago for chartering in the Bahamas? Because they are a natural playground of stunning beauty. This exotic, sparsely inhabited region includes 365 cays and islands and begins just 35 miles southeast of Nassau. The islands are divided into three major areas: Great Exuma, Little Exuma, and The Exuma Cays.

The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park spans 176-square-miles and is known for its pristine beauty, outstanding anchorages, shallow waters, and breathtaking marine environment. Yacht charter itineraries always include cays within the park boundaries. Popular stops are Shroud Cay, Hawksbill Cay, Long Cay, Warderick Wells, and Rocky Dundas. The visitor center is located on Warderick Wells, and mooring sites are situated throughout the park.

If you like deep-sea fishing, reef fishing or bonefishing, you can do it all here. The flats of The Exuma Islands are world-renowned for challenging bonefishing. The 6,000-foot depths of the Exuma Sound typically yield record numbers of wahoo, mahi-mahi, tuna, barracuda, blue marlin, kingfish, sailfish and more.
