Michener’s written materials do not imply that Bora Bora is any less magnificent than Moorea. Shop for Tahitian pearls, but check that trademarks are granted by local companies to avoid buying fakes. Original art, perfumes and oils, and precious wood handicrafts also make beautiful keepsakes. Visit the St. Regis or Four Seasons for five-star dining and spa options. Island endorsement by these companies draws honeymooners and romantics to its shores.
