Superyacht SOPHIA is the largest, completely custom launch from Moonen Shipyard to date. This transoceanic build is guaranteed to turn heads in every port of call. Stolk Marimecs was responsible for the naval architecture with styling by Rene van der Velden and the Moonen design team, and interiors by Art-Line Interiors.
SOPHIA, a rugged displacement hull, is poised for adventure. Following delivery in November, this grand dame will make her inaugural Atlantic crossing bound for winter destinations in the Caribbean. In addition to being the largest superyacht launched to date by the prestigious Dutch shipyard, SOPHIA was custom configured to carry and launch a three-person submarine.
SOPHIA has an array of large, wrap around windows for bright interiors with superb views. Art-Line Interiors evoke a modern, sophisticated ambiance that features oak wood, Zabrano and Concetto marble. In the stylish atrium, a custom piece of Concetto art provides a regal centerpiece.
Notable high-tech features on board superyacht SOPHIA include an integrated foil bridge, a full Kaleidoscope video server with multi-room control to operate lighting, blinds and climate control at the touch of an iPad, a thermal camera in the top mast, and an MOB system with personal tracking.
This is the third major motoryacht built by the same owner at Moonen. During the launch celebration, he confessed that was already considering ordering an even larger project sometime in the future. With plans afoot to increase the building capacity at Moonen, superyacht SOPHIA may not hold the size record for very long.
