StormYachts hosted a very special Storm Party at the Scheepswerf De Toekomst on Saturday May 25. The name of the shipyard, De Toekomst, is Dutch for “The Future”, and highly appropriate to the StormYacht 78 concept. The yacht boasts streamlined design by renowned Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and fast displacement hull by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.
Since 2010 StormYachts has been tantalizing the yachting world with the distinctive lines of its groundbreaking S-series. Through meticulous consideration of performance engineering and design livability, the Storm brand seeks to conquer the market sector of motoryacht fans dissatisfied by current market offerings. According to the yard, several StormYachts have already been sold based on the concept drawings. The much anticipated debut of hull number one in the series made the concept a reality.
The X-Series and S-Series are currently available. The S-92, the largest model under development is intended for people who admire the tough and impressive design of the S-78, but need additional space and comfort for 8 people. The drive technology and specifications of the S-92 are for the most part similar to those of the S-78.
For StormYachts, the future as now. While order books reflect the success of the X-Series and S-Series, a new type, the R-Series, is already on the drawing board.
