The handsome color palette of black, white and brown extends the flow of design from the main deck to this lower deck level.
Solo Contigo has a flybridge perfectly suited to outdoor living with fantastic views. We saved the best for last, heading up to the flybridge to chat with the crew, sample an amazing array of canapés and enjoy an impromptu wine tasting at the delightful bar. Laura Ann Demovich, Stewardess, Deckhand, Mixologist and Dive Master, assisted Captain James Cameron, in discussing the yacht and the wines.
Solo Contigo was built in 2009, and refit in 2012 to emerge as if new. The Captain delivered the yacht about a year ago and in the process learned everything there is to know about this sporty Azimut 85 and become a bit of a wine expert himself, especially when it comes to the Solo Contigo vineyards. The Solo Contigo winery is producing five varieties of premium wines, three richly complex malbecs, a sauvignon blanc and a most interesting torrontes, a white grape we had never heard of with a refreshing citrus bouquet.
Chef Leilani Toivanen Lamb Meatballs with Shaved Cheese
Opposite the bar, Chef Leilani Toivanen, who hails from Melbourne Australia, had laid the long table with cheese platters paired with carefully selected condiments, such as sweet pickled watermelon rind, and artfully arranged hors d’ouvres. She explained that because the Owners own the Solo Contigo winery, they enjoy having wine and cheese integrated into the cuisine. The pasta salad with chicken and basil has Gouda cheese, cheese risotto balls with sauvignon blanc, spicy Spanish tortilla with parsley, goat cheese and chorizo, crab cakes with dill sauce and other delights kept emerging from the galley.
Solo Contigo is a pleasing charter yacht on every level. The yacht cruises at 20 knots, which is ideal for exploring lively ports of call along the South Florida coast or island hopping in the Bahamas. Furnishings and decor are equivalent to a world-class, boutique hotel and the professional crew is skillful and charming. We have no doubt that Solo Contigo will prove to be one of the most popular charter yachts in the region.
