CHASSEUR defines great contemporary design.
Soothing and deceptively simple, every room reveals something rare, something innovative, a stunning detail. Exterior styling softens and streamlines elements of the classic Christensen build. Interiors are sophisticated, modern, minimalist and chic. The technology is state-of-the-art, the joinery is superb, the lighting is creative, the silk area rugs, like all design details, are works of art. Then there is the art, photographs and sculptural pieces that are whimsical, bold, unexpected.
Select Yachts toured CHASSEUR charter yacht and were impressed at every turn. The keel was laid 2014 and the yacht was completed in late 2016. Last year was her inauguration into the charter industry. We give a standing ovation to Christensen Shipyards as they continue to launch some of the world’s most sought-after builds. CHASSEUR is most deservedly the 2017 ISS World Design Winner in the 40m – 65m Motor Yacht range.
The main objectives of the design brief were space and flow.
The Owner wanted to maximize volume. He envisioned a seamless transition between interior and exterior environments. Both dictates were masterfully accomplished using a gentle color palette, light species of wood, expansive windows, white, reflective ceiling panels and minimal decoration. Contradicting the trendy logic of an open plan, compartmentalized rooms, with milky walls and magnificent views, feel very, very spacious.
The main salon is separated from the formal dining area by floor-to-ceiling cabinetry housing the retractable television. Sofas and armchairs are grouped in the center around a pair of tables. With nothing against the walls, corridors are wide open. Views through deliberately un-tinted windows are without distraction. Between each window, a column of light turns architecture into art.
The full-beam formal dining room is exquisitely understated in hues of brown, gold and gray. The table, designed by Armani, seats 12 guests. Every day their place settings will be selected from the over-two-million-dollar collection of fine china and stemware.
In the foyer, the spiral stairway is an architectural triumph.
It connects all four deck-levels. Slices of transparent, floating glass seem magically lit by color-changing LEDs. It’s a mesmerizing experience. Each color subtly changes the mood. The stairwell and handrail are upholstered in finely woven, amber leather. The stairwell cradles a monolithic wood sculpture by French interior design architect Christian Liaigre.
The office and the master stateroom are positioned forward on the main deck. The entire compartment features a continuous sole of matte-finished teak with holly inlays. Furniture by Hermes and Armani are comfortable showpieces.
All guest staterooms are autonomous.
Guests have individual control of an extensive movie and music library, U.S., Caribbean and European satellite television, iPad interface, and the fastest internet speeds available. The aft three staterooms, including the full-beam VIP, have king size beds. The forward three have queens. Every guest bathroom is opulent. Each is clad in different shades of onyx sourced from the finest quarries around the world. Floors are heated.
The bridge deck offers intimate seating with views from the helm. The sky lounge has one of two exquisite bars and ample sofa seating. Outside, the charter party can dine al fresco with lovely views. Up one level on the sundeck is a full bar made of backlit crystal agate and mirrored glass, a large Jacuzzi pool in a surround of sun pads, sofa seating and deck loungers for sunning.
CHASSEUR is the ultimate in refined luxury.
She is seductive without being overtly sexy, opulent without being ostentatious. She is the ideal option for connoisseurs who appreciate the difference. CHASSEUR charter yacht is available summers in the Mediterranean and winters in the Caribbean. She accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms with nine crew.
