With Laurent and Astrid as your guides, you won’t miss out on anything.
Family Boating Vacations Aboard ISOLABLUE embark from Tortola.
Tortola, the largest island, offers many land and sea adventures. For example, Sage Mountain National Park has well-marked walking trails for all skill levels. Take it easy or take a challenge. Sage Mountain is the highest point in the British and US Virgin Islands at 1,710 feet, with panoramic views of all the islands.
At Nanny Cay, youngsters scramble about the climbing tree with rope swings while parents chat it up with fellow parents over a cold beer. For parents and teens, Apple Bay is one of the best surfing beaches in the entire Caribbean. You can also surf at beautiful Cane Garden Bay, or just hang out at a beach bar to enjoy tropical drinks and live music.
Family Boating Vacations Aboard ISOLABLUE head to Virgin Gorda.
The Baths National Park is a must! The most astonishing natural wonder in the BVI’s comprises enormous boulders, rock tunnels and sandy beaches interspersed with pools and traversed by ladders. This is a playground for all ages. Hidden coves, caves and pools let your kids’ imagination can run wild.
Leverick Bay Resort & Marina delights wee pirates at Michael Beans Pirate Show. Don your pirate costumes for the campy sing-along. Drink a Painkiller and have as much fun as your kids. Your purchase buys the green light for a dip in the resort pool.
Family Boating Vacations Aboard ISOLABLUE drop anchor off Norman Island and Peter Island
Norman Island is great for snorkeling, paddle boarding and enjoying the beach. While the kids splash about, Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa can grab upscale hors d’oeuvres and cocktails from Pirates Bight. The moniker is a nod to pirate legends. Among them, the escapades of Captain Kidd and Blackbeard who sailed in the BVIs. Robert Louis Stevenson is said to have based his novel, Treasure Island, on Norman Island.
Peter Island was the spot where the notorious English pirate, Blackbeard, marooned 15 of his fellow pirates on Deadman’s Bay with just one sword and a single bottle of rum.
Aboard ISOLABLUE, Astrid pulls out the pirate eye patches. She says, “I plan treasure hunts, where kids have to find the treasures. I write clues to lead them to the next spot with the next hidden clue. They need to find one hiding place after another until someone finally uncovers the treasure. There’s always a surprise for them, like a little toy turtle as gift inside a treasure box.”
Family Boating Vacations Aboard ISOLABLUE unwind in Anegada.
Relax on white, sand beaches, or do a bit of snorkeling. Sail over to see the incredible island made entirely of conch shells just offshore. For an adrenaline rush, check out the Tommy Gaunt Kitesurfing School.
Wherever you sail in the Caribbean the sea is the number one attraction. Want to dive but aren’t certified? Captain Laurent is a licensed PADI Instructor and Chef Astrid is a licensed PADI Dive Master. They offer one “discover scuba dive”, or one dive per person for a minimum stay of seven nights.
The crew can also teach family members of any age to snorkel and paddle board right off the yacht, or off the beach. In just a foot or two of water you can see amazing things.
Award-winning Chef Astrid took first place at the 2018 Grenada Charter Yacht Show Culinary Competition. Guests rave about her cooking, even the youngest ones.
Once upon a time there was a child who was a little bit picky with his food. He only loved tomatoes, cucumber and carrots as vegetables. Astrid to the rescue!
“I started to present the dishes in a funny way,” Astrid explained. “He started eating much more than usual. His parents just loved seeing him so quiet and pleased at table. At meals he was very excited to discover his special dish, which I tried to keep secret before serving.
“While I served his parents elaborate dishes, I created simple dishes with funny faces to keep him happy. I used only the veggies he liked (tomatoes, carrots and cucumber) to enliven a main dish with my fantasy creatures.”

On behalf of my family, I want to extend our deepest thanks! We all feel like we won the lottery! Of course, Isolablue is a beautiful vessel, but Laurent & Astrid are two of the loveliest people we have ever met. Their kindness, graciousness, and charm made this past week one of the most wonderful and memorable of our lives. We will always treasure our time with them. They were accommodating beyond any expectations, and “spoiled” us as we have never been”spoiled”! We have made life-long friends. All of us now dream of a day when we can enjoy their company again…February, 2020
Astrid and Laurent were outstanding! First of all very professional, very precise with security (on boat, while snorkeling, while diving), but then also experienced sailors, naturalists with a great knowledge, award winning cook (Astrid) and barkeeper (Laurent). They made all our dreams come true. They are very precious people and we are more than happy to get to know them. December, 2019
Astrid and Laurent can be distinguished from the great mass of charter providers. Astrid offers a very unusual luxury in dining: multi-course meals, very lovingly prepared with fresh ingredients and nicely presented. Laurent is a PADI dive instructor. He knows perfectly the beautiful snorkeling sites and made it possible for me to dive with his calm and safe nature (I have not dived for 15 years!).
Astrid and Laurent love their lives and radiate that too. They are very open to their guests, totally uncomplicated and very professional. We have had so many inspiring conversations, laughter or simply spun « sailor’s yarn », that they really grew so close to my heart. I can highly recommend them to you. November, 2019
ISOLABLUE, a 49-foot Privilege sailing catamaran, is a high-end cruiser designed for luxury living at sea. Catamarans are the favorite of families due to their wonderful stability. Because they do not heel over, people prone to seasickness, or with no previous sailing experience, feel safe and comfortable.
Outdoor living is at its best. The large cockpit is the preferred spot for dining al fresco with magnificent views. Easy access to the wide transom makes launching water toys and diving into the Caribbean Sea effortless fun, even for children.
Three ensuite guest cabins are roomy and well-ventilated. Each is equipped with an individually controlled digital thermostat to ensure the perfect temperature. Salon and cabin headroom is 6.4ft and comfy beds measure 5.2 x 6.5 ft, great for tall Dads. Amenities include shampoo, body lotion and soap in the bathrooms. Special marine-friendly sun lotion is provided.
Astrid and Laurent love to have children aboard. They recommend that children know how to swim. Children can sleep with their parents, or parents can bring a baby bed. It can be positioned just next to the parents’ cabin.
On all charter yachts children are always the responsibility of their parents. Crew work extremely hard during a charter. Please do not expect them to babysit.
December through February, ISOLABLUE charters in the British Virgin Islands. She will be in the Grenadines from March 2020 through the summer. She is also available for charter in the French West Indies. Laurent and Astrid have hosted many, amazing family charters in all of these islands and are happy to customize a family itinerary on request.
